This recent New York Times article on the 92nd Street Y is indicative of my love-hate relationship with the city of New York. An amazing island that densely packs the coolest collections of bars, restaurants, museums, funk and hip unfortunately also contains the most absurdly rich blue blood families that represent the extremes of capitalist excess - not to mention 28" waist hipsters who moved there from the midwest but are without a doubt cooler than you.
What I do love about New York - besides of course the $1 Jamaican Beef Patties on every corner? Icons such as Other Music.
